Lexie home from Camp

You know this week Chris and I sometimes felt like we were running out of kids!  I know that sounds strange but it was almost a little glimpse of what life will be like!

Last night I came home from getting groceries and yelled in the door like I always do, "Need some help with the groceries!"  At our house this is the cue for all the kids to pile out and help me carry them in.  I called, and called and finally Ariel responded.  It was at that point that I realized this was my only recruit.  The rest were all gone; Lexie for the week at camp, Logan working for the summer at camp, and Taylor at Karate.  Poor Ariel, I bought a lot and she made trip after trip carrying it in!

Today we pick up Lexie, in another week it will all change again and everyone including Logan will be home.  It's going to be a bit strange, we have gotten used to him being gone although between work and school he probably won't be home much.

Ariel had a week away at camp earlier this summer too but that week I don't remember noticing as much the "lack of kids".  Probably because Lexie is the one that still hangs with mom a lot.  Ariel likes to do her own thing more.

Bair Lake Bible camp has been great over the years.  It started when I worked there as a lifeguard when I was 15/16!  We especially love the family camp there and have gone several times.  My old blog has posts on this.  If you're looking for a great camp for kids camps, family camps or for your young adult to staff for be sure to check them out for next year!

Logan has said a couple of times in the limited conversations we've had since he's been there this summer that deciding to be on staff was, "The best decision ever!"  He wants to do it again next year.  Ariel can't wait till next year because she will then be 14 and able to work as a volunteer for a few weeks!
