Unglued: Making Wise Decisions in the midst of raw emotions gets a huge thumbs up from me.  In fact if I could find a way to get every woman to read this and apply it's message the world would be a better place!  No, seriously, I'm not kidding.

This book  by Lysa TerKeurst came out last August and I got it a few months later for my Nook reader.  In my busy life however I knew I didn't have time to really read it yet, however I scanned the first chapter right away and knew it looked good.  I saved it for my trip to Washington where I have long plane flights and knew I could give it my full attention.  Well the trip is over, I'm back and the book did not disappoint.

Unglued focuses on taking a look at Biblical wisdom on the choices we make in our reactions.  We all deal with situations and people who, let's face it, sometimes push our buttons and this is about ALL those times and ALL those people.  For me this was very confirming and helpful.  She gives very intentional action plans.  And Lysa is so real.

I've read a couple of her other books and what I love is that she is so relate-able and easy to read.  She shares very transparently about her life and that speaks to me very clearly.  It's not a long read, about 155 pages which I like.  In fact I like it so much and believe it can help EVERY woman so much that I chose to use it for the next Bible study I'm leading.

So if you're local and would like to join us.  We meet on Wednesday afternoons in Niles MI and we'll begin February 6th.  The study has a video portion and was designed to be 6 sessions but the group of ladies in our study like to take things slowly, make sure they have time to get their homework done and really get a lot out of what we do so we will be doing it over 12 weeks.  Let me know if you're interested or check it out on Lysa's site, you can read the first chapters free there.

  1. ~ Thanks for sharing this info., Gina. I'm so busy, I rarely get to reading the things I really should. Unglued: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Raw Emotions, sure sound like something I could benefit from!! :) Do you still have your copy on hand? Maybe we could get together 1 morning & catch up?! I remember how Blessed I was years ago attending the "Joy Seekers" Bible Study you led! So many ladies have been Blessed over the years by the Hope Community Church Women's Fest that you helped develop! I'm glad to see you are still devoted to faith, family & teaching! ~ :D
